- Glossy stripe and color shift ink
Tilt the €5, €10 and €20 notes and a gold colored strip appears on the back. It shows the value and the € symbol. Tilt the €50, €100, €200 and €500 notes and the value number on the back of the notes on the right will change color from purple to olive green or brown.
3 New functions of the second series
3.1 Raised print
The obverse has a series of short raised lines on the left and right edges. The architectural motif, inscriptions and large value number are also stronger. This raised print is designed to make it easier for the blind and visually impaired to recognize the notes.
3.2 Watermark
When you hold the note up to the light, a faint image appears showing a portrait of Princess Europa, the value of the note and a window.
3.3 Portrait window
